Goals:
Demonstrate Rapid Ignition with Cryogenic Oxygen and Methane
Propellants, Hardware at 200R and in vacuum.- Scope: Design and Fabricate Hardware, Test in Vacuum Facility at NASA/GRC
- Results: Demonstrated 33,000 starts in vacuum without hardware failure
- Customer: Joint WASK Engineering IR&D and NASA/JSC
- Future applications: Ignition system for space engines, with direct applicability to LOX/Methane and LOX/Hydrogen engines
